In a cold night, a guy with a clown mask and a stolen mercedes, decides to run over and kill a dozen of people, people who are waiting in a cold line to get a job/ a what if.../ and vanished in the thin air. Two years later, the invitation to fire up the interest of the retired cop Bill, is sealed with the yellow face
and no one suspect that the driver of an ice cream truck who parks outside his home is the ''mastermind'' of the road kills two years before.
The adaptation of the horror mystery thriller novel by Stephen King finally air in the Audience network, with a couple of changes in the cast/ Anton Yelchin was set to play the maniac Brady but unfortunately killed in a car accident/ , so his place take Harry Treadaway from ''Penny Dreadful'' next to astounding Brendan Gleeson as detective Bill Hodges,
two different men, the opposite sides of a yellow emoji ball, the cat and the mouse trapped in a wheel of madeness and killings, and i am so relieved that finally a adaptation for adults (Under the dome who??), with harsh scenes and complicated matters, like the relationship between mother and son/how amazing is Kelly Lynch??
and the delightful scenes between Bill and Ida, a fine replacement for Ann-Margret is Holland Taylor, from the Two and a half men! Delightful juicy chemistry, the scenes are so good that make a whole new series between them.
A glimpse of the trailer!
I am so excited about this! A killer returns after two years with the tendency to wreck the sleepy retired life of detective Bill with lucid and provocative videos, Mary-Luise Parker back to action,
and my favourite woman from ''Unreal'', by the way, the third season starts in winter, Breeda Wool in a role so fitting and provocative than a candidate to a bachelor reality show.
A classic chase of detective vs.killer rewritten with an all star cast and a well built scary plot with twists and turns, and a first scene so similar with the recent attacks of the terrorists to Nice and Barcelona, but with entirely different reasons. Enjoyable and dark, finally something ''horrorish'' from Stephen King, without the worry to make something childish again'' like Under the dome'' or the terrible ''Mist''.
9,5/10
