After the participation of Jessica Jones as a member of the big fiasco team ''Defenders'', finally returns to her own world, a world with boozes, investigations, and broken things. The second season of Jessica Jones is finally here, after two years, but a slightly different than the first one. For me, after watching all the episodes, this season is much more egocentric and autistic to the depression moods of Jessica, a season without a villain rather the same persona of Jessica. Its very tiresome to adjust to these moods, always pissed or the need to be totally alone make Jessica a person with many scars to heal, and even if this season is the origin of how Jessica got the powers/ she is not a mutant/ and how to deal with a jaw-dropping family member returns from the grave, even if the second season is around Jessica, Trish /Patsy Walker/ steals the impressions with the ''death'' of the social media persona and the beginning of the birth to Hellcat.
Trish not only take a much bigger part as Malcolm and Jerry too/ the scum and the sickness is just a filler or something more important lurking here?
but we bare witness to the rise of a new super-heroin, something that we will discover in the future.
Jessica's reaction when she discovers her origin story and how get her power, makes me to dislike her in some point. Swinging moods, always depression, always alone. Ok, i get it, but in comics Jessica Jones has passed all that, she is dynamic and funny, more positive. In TV adaptation, it reminds me a person with the necessity to dive to Xanax. And then we have the big moment of the season. Her mother. An experiment with rage trigger, but with a soft spot to Jessica.
A woman filled with pain, totally justified, if you think that not only lose her entirely family, but for 17 years it was a lab rat , a prisoner to her own burn existence. And now the paradox. Everybody treats her like a normal person. They call her ''Psycho'' ''killer'' ''frenzy''. Even Jessica. Trish. Almost all the characters. Did i miss something? 17 years to a living hell and they expect to have a normal reaction? Jessica dont hesitate to call the police twice on her. The big disappointment is not only the racist behavior to this woman, but the teenage outbursts towards her from Jessica. Annoying and out of character entirely. And not only to her mother, but almost anyone in the cast. Even the hot new boyfriend
or the season finale and the hate glaze towards Trish. I dont get it especially when i read so many Jessica Jones comics and freaks me out all that bipolar disaster to her character. The season has its moments like episode seven and eleven, but very weak, especially when Purple man comes again as a memory
and suddenly you remind the fantastic first season. It lacks of villain this season, i cant copy with this woman as an arch-enemy
and all that booze and moods makes you wonder if its all for the impression or someone wants to make Jessica Jones an anti-hero or just a feminine symbol with the ''trendy'' look to not care for anyone , and no, the last scene of the season, doesn't make me to change my mind.
8/10
