Last summer, somewhere getting tanned from Naxos island, finally completed the ''american gods'' from Neil Gaiman, and a big phew! from my lips. Ok, i have read novels and novels, why ''american gods'' was so fucking boring for me i still ask myself, with the only exception the story ark with the ''happy snow town'' and the car in the frozen lake. I think that ''Sandman'' changed the face of comic books, loved ''Stardust'' and ''Coraline'', but unfortunately , ''american gods'' was a boring book full of chiche from greek mythology blend with a mix from others religions and urban american legends, but in a way, so much predictable, so, when i see the first episode of the tv adaptation, catch myself with a big smile especially when i see mr. Wednesday (when i read it, i have the image of Ian Mc Shane in my mind)
and the mythic journey of Shadow Moon just begins, and a big smile indeed, because i believe that ''american gods'' is more reachable and less complicated in a tv form or maybe in the form of a movie,
left out all the long and boring me to hell conversations, especially from Shadow Moon and the crew of mr. Wednesday
and so much pleasureable to watch the real power of Bilquis and the manifestations of her.
I actually enjoy it, with all the good parts of ''american gods'' and the boring benched, if it was the destiny to work better in tv rather in paper, leave outside the complicated and without meaning sequences. I dare to say that i prefer to see it with a simplicity and much more understanding rather a boring book of 640 pages, so, the road is finally open for ''Sandman''?
The road map to ''american gods'' is full of bumps and a sacred tree is waiting to hung a strong neck. No spoilers here, if i read it, so do you. 8/10
trailer!
